Las Vegas Real Estate

The City of Las Vegas Nevada

The city of Las Vegas is America's resort destination. This Nevada city is home to almost 2 million people and is truly the Entertainment Capitol of the World. The casinos of the Las Vegas Strip are a glittering spectacle, with gambling, amusement park rides and headline acts like the Blue Man Group and Cirque de Soleil. Founded in 1905, Las Vegas, NV has transformed its image from an anything goes gambling town to a family-friendly desert playground.

Homes in Las Vegas

Las Vegas real estate is dominated by luxury high-rises and planned communities that sprawl through the Las Vegas Valley. Homes for sale in Vegas are often townhouses and converted condominiums, but buyers seeking single family homes or ranch property will find plenty to offer as well.

Summerlin is a master-planned community located on the northwest side of Las Vegas. Summerlin real estate is balance of homes, businesses, parks and public and private golf courses. Homes for sale in Summerlin enter the market in the low $300,000 range.

The Lakes is a planned community first developed in the mid-Eighties. Located to the west of the Strip, this community features jogging trails, access to several man-made lakes, and easy access to the attractions of central Las Vegas. Condominium conversions enter the market in the mid $200,000 range, while single family homes easily claim $400,000 and up.

To the south of the Strip, the home buyer will find the gated community of the Las Vegas Country Club. Townhouses enter the market around $350,000, while single family homes can break the million dollar mark.

Vegas Heights lies to the north and west of the Strip. Private homes under a thousand square feet can be found here for $120,000.

Las Vegas, NV Schools

The Clark County School District is responsible for administering the majority of Las Vegas public schools. Several magnet schools provide diversity, innovative programs and a career focused education to students. The Las Vegas Academy of International Studies, Performing and Visual Arts is a US Blue Ribbon school, and has received seven Grammy Signature School awards for excellence in music instruction. Rancho High School gives its students training in aviation and medicine and partners with the University of Nevada Las Vegas to open doors of opportunity for students.

Business in Las Vegas

Small businesses have blossomed in Las Vegas, taking advantage of an entrepreneur-friendly climate. Businesses do not pay any corporate income taxes. With world-famous hotels like the Luxor, the Sands and the Treasure Island, the Las Vegas Strip attracts millions of tourists to the city every year. Three of the biggest employers in the area are hotels and resorts.

Las Vegas Realtors

A review of the Las Vegas real estate listings will not give a home buyer all of the information needed to get the best real estate value. A local Las Vegas real estate agent has an intimate knowledge of the market's history which is a definite advantage to the serious home buyer.
